Excerpt from Section One of the BYLAWS OF THE FRANKLIN COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION
The objectives of this Association shall be to publish a legal journal in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and to have and exercise all rights and powers conferred on non-profit corporations under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or which may hereafter be conferred, including the power to distribute funds in excess of its annual operating needs to any organization to which contributions are deductible pursuant to the provisions of Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended.
In addition, the objectives of this Association shall be:
(1) To promote the administration of Justice.
(2) To uphold the honor and dignity of the law.
(3) To foster continuing legal education and scholarship.
(4) To encourage social fellowship among its members.
(5) To perpetuate the memory of deceased members.
